Special Edition Wiking for Telecom 2000 Show Wiking came out with a bunch of these "HO" scale NBs in various colours and logos.  An even smaller one was issued for the German Post Office.  A German police car is also shown. Released in Jan. '03 just in time for the release of the car... same colours as the real car. Paul's Model Art, 1:43, Concept 1, one of the first toys I collected and drew me to the design. Another one of the first toys, Minichamps Concept 1, 1:43.  Note the round mirrors, rounded smaller front/rear lights, and black roof. Paul's Model Art 1:43 Concept Cabrio IXO 1:43 Techno Blue, 2003.  Has shorter antenna than others, pattern on the seats, and no bud vase. Paul's Model Art/Minichamps 1:43 Cyber Green NB Paul's Model Art/Minichamps 1:43 Red NB.  These have a radio antenna, while the Schuco has no antenna, but a bud vase and flower! Schuco 1:43 Black with special Porsche wheels. Schuco 1:43 Black/Yellow with special edition wheels. I played with this toy whle dreaming that the real thing might eventually be built! Minichamps 1:43 Herbie.  Apparently, only 53 of these were made. Schuco 1:43 in Pink and special wheels! Matchbox 1:64 Scale:
This issue had the VW logos upside down!  Also, the lower part of the card didn't say "Mattel Wheels" One of the first issues of the 1:64 Concept toy. Black with VW logo. Then and Now set sold exclusively in Toys R Us stores in the US in 2002. This is part of the Matchbox Across America series showing a different vehicle for each of the 50 states.  Although it came out in mid-2002, it didn't come out in great quantities yet, so it's rare along with the Puerto Rico NB. This came out in late 2002 as part of the Matchbox 50 States collection.  It kind of never really made it into the stores in any great quantities, so it's quite rare! As part of a set of 5 vehicles from the Nickelodeon cartoon series Rugrats, this convertible Concept NB has strange colours. One of the earlier special edition toys from Matchbox (around 1999), this toy included markings from Coca Cola, and real rubber tires. Along with the Coca Cola toy in 1999, this neat yellow Concept also has rubber tires This is a smaller version of the neat 1:18 scale DARE Police car.  Nicely done, and kind of rare.  This was part of a series of DARE cars that was issued after people voted on their favourites on the Matchbox website.  Needless to say, many of us on the N Just out in early 2003, this toy was sold in Blockbuster Video stores in the US.  I'm not sure what the connection is between Blockbuster and Nickleodeon, and why SpongeBob would have a New Beetle. A special edition as part of a series of vehicles from Matchbox and Taco Bell, sold in Taco Bell restaurants.  Note the different painted out windows. Arriving in early 2003, and looking very much like a New Beetle, this "Beach Patrol" toy floats. Released in 2002 and sold through Avon catalogs of all places!  I'm not sure what the relationship is between Matchbox and Kellogg's, and what that has to do with Avon.  Quite a combination! Released in 2000 by the FAO Schwarz toy store, this is a neat set for the New Beetle or Volkswagen enthusiast. A custom-painted Matchbox Concept toy.  Note the painted sunroof. Matchbox green Concept with painted-out windows. An exclusive toy from Target Stores in the US.  Issued in 2001. This was also a toy exclusive to Target Stores in the US.  Issued around 2001. Part of a set of 5 DARE vehicles.  Issued in 2002. Issued by Matchbox in late 2003 is this Looney Tunes Back in Action set, with the Concept 1 casting sporting Pepe LePew markings (1:64 Scale). Also issued in late 2003 with the Looney Tunes "Back in Action" movie is this 1:64 set with NB Concept 1 casting showing Bugs Bunny.

This was issued in the summer of 2002. Y2K Bugs, part of a Johnny Lightning ".COM" series in 1999/2000.  It was "Y2K" compatible, I guess. A White Lightning JL toy.  Interior is white, and wheels are gold instead of silver.

This is a rare item I got in mid-2002 from Australia. This air freshener came out in late 2001 in 5 different colours. These came from VW's store at the factory in Mexico.  Rare stuff.
